Bio Alive Drinks is founded by Rachel Down, Founder and Managing Director of Boil and Broth.
Rachel started making fermented drinks back in 2017. At the time, she was suffering from poor health after the birth of her children. Unable to find the help she needed from the NHS, Rachel started on her own research and discovered gut health and a condition called Candida overgrowth. Learning about the gut microbiome, Rachel discovered probiotics that might help to rebalance her gut flora. However, she wasn't too keen on taking tablets long term, so researched to discovered natural probiotics and that is when she learned about natural fermentation.
Rachel is now extremely passionate about making a change to the way health is managed and empowering people to understand that they have a choice when it comes to their health. She is working hard to ensure that up to date health science is implemented across GP surgeries and local hospitals and is keen to help the NHS reduce their £16 billion spend on pharmaceutical drugs.
